I passed through the Czech Republic by bus a couple times in 2004 on the way to and from Hungary. Prague looked nice, I liked the number of clocks there. I went through the Czech Republic a few more times in April 2005 by train. The countryside is nice. It reminds me of Germany. Unfortunately my first impressions haven't been very good. When you arrive in Prague you are beset by offers of lodging and such. I suppose it’s popularity as a cheap tourist destination is the cause of this. It’s too bad because it does look pretty. I finally got a chance to spend some time in Prague in both January and April 2010. The coffee is great, and the beer. I charged up by getting slices of pizza now and then to keep walking around the city. It has both a metro and a river both big plusses for me in a city.
