I stayed a night in Riga during my Baltic trip of March 2005, somehow the city felt German to me. Perhaps it was because I ended up using bad German to communicate in shops as more people spoke German than English, the Latvian countryside was quite forested. I was next in Riga in December 2008, but sadly it was just to spend a night in the airport on my way to Egypt.
