I was first in and out of Sweden over two weeks in October 2004. I had a research course that was based on the border with Finland and concerned border issues partially. It was a bit depressing to be going over the border so often and get NOT A SINGLE stamp in my passport! My flight back to Iceland also stopped at the airport in Stockholm. During my rail trip of 2005 I passed through Sweden a few more times. This time I was fortunate enough to get a passport stamp. I like the feel of Sweden, it may be my home for some time in the future....and this turned out to be true! In August 2008 I moved to Sweden for a masters degree at Lund University. It's a good place to live. I really respect the political system even if I find the society to be cold and distant. It's a place that appreciates the environment and gender equality. It's a place that sets a good example for the world.
