The United States is my home country. I have yet to actually live on the mainland though. I lived almost all my life in Hawai'i, and two years in Alaska. The closest I've come to living on the mainland was the half year or so I was living in Québec. The United States is a very diverse country. While I have traveled quite a lot here I don't feel I have seen a fraction of it. Also I still have to see the south-east. The old south. When I was growing up I identified myself as coming from the U.S. but since I left Hawai'i I identify with Hawai'i first and the U.S. second. I don't like the term American because it doesn't take Hawai'i into account. Hawai'i is part of the U.S. but not American. I myself am Usian(or whatever) but not American. This page doesn't include pictures from Alaska or Hawai'i. Hawai'i can be found here, and Alaska can be found here. I visited my mother's family in California a couple times in the 1980s and early 1990s, and once in 1998. In 1992 and 1999 I got to see a lot of the country on family road trips. In early 2001 I spent a week in New York City at a conference. In 2003 and 2005 I used the fact that I was moving to Europe as an opportunity to go across the country. In 2003 by bus and in 2005 by train. In 2007 I visited some friends and family in the north east. And finally I passed through in 2010, but only in airports.
